The goliath population has exploded! ask any diver. Its gonna affect the ecosystem in florida eventually if some of these fish aren't harvested. A huge population of a species at the top off the food chain can't be good.
That sand comment is ridiculous by the way...you need some bio lessons on the digestive system!
guys guys i can't speak about other countries or anything like that but in florida the law is that goliath grouper are to be released in the water. If caught "taking" the fish out of water is a fine and in the florida keys for example, "fines" are taken very seriously. Hope that helps.

Cant believe you killed that fish. Top end predators are EXTREMELY important to the health and sustainability of reef systems....
You should have taken a pic of it in the water and then cut the line next to it's mouth
