I never surfed alot. But growing up swimming in the great lakes, I had no problem surfing NorCal with NO WETSUIT. Sorry cornflakes. But 55 degree water is not really cold if you are in good shape! Have fun surfing the poisoned waters of LA. Ask Dick Dale why he got cancer: Surfing near LA.

@johncharlesvii Sarcasm misses you. I've surfed NorCal for 30 years and spend roughly 150 days a year in the water. Just the same, I'd prefer that people go surf somewhere warm. We have sharks and cold water which makes any quality we have up here not worth spending time in...

It is crazy to surf Nor Cal. You all should go surf in San Diego or Hawaii, it's warm and happy in those places. Nor Cal is obviously not worth looking into...

People are nuts to go in Northern California waters. Freezing cold, merky water and full of great white sharks :)

This is Santa Cruz, CA and the water is fine and I know what you mean about LA. Not good. I'd love to see and surf in the Great Lake/s someday. The water gets cold here.It's been down to 51 for a time but climbing back toward 55. It's was 46 up on along Oregon the other day. Come surf with us Darkensmith.
