  • This last comment is misleading to readers. It is made by someone that surely believes the is only one way, or a best way to execute a golf stroke. There are many valid stroke techniques and this video is decribing a technique employed by many great players. The fact is, you can push or pull (drag in the comment below) as well as swinging from the center. There have being many studies done on these concepts. Books like The Golfing Machine show that you can both push or pull.

  • to start the downswing with your right knee is a bad idea. as you can see in the instructors video, the mass of the body (the weight) stays in the middle while the arms, hands and club reaches impact position – and after this motion the weight stores into the left hip socket. but to hit it really well and to use your body's power, you first have to shift the weight to your left hip socket. you are not doing it "pushing" it with your right knee. you have to "drag" it with your left side.

  • This is a great feel, but my left knee collapses at times, not really sure why that would be, but I will keep working on it. Thanks Dave.

  • Thank you so much i really think this will make me more consistent with my wedges and short mid iron!!! i used pillows to see what the impact posoition should be.

  • great tip! tried going through the motions and my swing arc seems better. just a question: what initiates the downswing? can the kicking in of the right knee be used as the starting point of the downswing?

  • Some great tips! Thank you, i will try this at my next lesson at exeter golf driving range.

Btw check out my videos, just klick on my name!

  • Great Tip Dave.

  • BTW, if you are blessed with a party ball rather than a six pack; use a bungee cord around your waist. This will keep you from breaking belt loops and keep mom happy.

Good luck on this great drill.

  • thanks man really helped me, been practicing all week...thanks again

  • Great golf tip. Thanks a lot!
