Congradulations. May it bring you many miles of smiles. And a very happy 50th birthday to the most fun you can have on four wheels.

Sounds like a healthy (if untuned) A-series! And the car looks fantastic!
I've a '79 Midget, myself (yeah, boo me if you want... I like it) and recently got it running after overhauling and doing a few mods to the Triumph 1500 (upped the compression, bit more aggressive camshaft, lightened flywheel, and a PRI Mikuni ESR-42 carburator replacement).

I love the fog lamps up front! That looks awesome! I am going to have to install some on my 1971 Midget.
I have some videos up of mine cranking too! Come check em out!

19 huh? I got my first mg midget 7 years ago when I was 20. It was my dads and I remember not being able to see over the dash of it when i was little. if you live in the chicago area there is a british car autojumble in wheaton on february 25. Also why not join the you tube mg car club? I'll invite you. BTW I still drive my midget, its a 1971 square arch us spec.

oh, it looked like it was running a hotter cam or maybe the carbs werent tuned yet... im getting mine on the road soon has the engine appart and the suspension is screwed.. but its going back together the hard part is money!!

Understand about the money!
No hot cam, just a rebuild and the sound is 99% a combination of timing, carbs and no air filter.
Good luck with yours and post a vid when it's up and running.

It is a stock A-Series 1275cc, the car is a 1974 US Spec.
