  • I have to admit that almost 30 years later after hearing this song for the first time it still brings "goose bumps" when I listen to it. When I was a lot younger, this song brought the house down in a club known as Bora Bora on the Greek Island of Corfu. Thanks to a DJ named Gino Bianchi who pounded the beat to this song every night people would go into a near frenzy when they heard it. Truly this is a song that has some soul to it.

  • @cdngr It's so good to get feedback like yours I hope the band get it too

  • The very best of the new and the old...music crosses boundaries...

  • incredible sound from the drums. really well done for a live setup at a festival.

  • 30 seconds in - that is clearly not a cigarette being lit :) I was there. Couldn't believe it when Richie Havens came on and this top tune was played.

    Thanks for the upload.

  • Unbelievably good! 10+++. Richie delivering his message to a new generation. Thank you so much for spreading this love around.

  • Best i ever dance 4

  • i just recently got into groove aramada, but ive always loved some richie havens.

  • @cdngr Sorry, further to my comment; THE ORIGINAL version of this awesome tune is of course LAMONT DOZIER from 1977. Check that one out also!!! You're in for a treat. "Superb song written by the man himself, was part of motown songwriting team, holland, dozier, holland. This song was later covered by 80s soul group, odyssey who hit the no 4 spot in the uk charts of 1981,good as it may be,original is best" as the uploader says. From that one Riche H. obviously draws his inspiration...

  • @cdngr Which version was it? The original one w/ Odyssey or Richie Havens'? See if the link I provide of the former works here. But otherwise I think Richie Havens' version of it on his album from the same year, 1981, is much better than this one. What I also remember, 30 yrs later, was that even in major discos in Europe at the time, the dj's played both these versions right after another. (Couldn't post Odysseys' version, but you can find it yourselves on youtube.)
