Joshua Stevens on Nashville Star

Joshua Stevens started playing saxophone at the age of seven and has always wanted to be a singer. During high school he was all-state in band and jazz. Joshua attended the University of Northern Iowa for music performance with jazz studies as a minor. He later dropped out to move to Los Angeles to play sax professionally.
Joshua played in independent projects in the studio and live around town. He joined a popular corporate band -- "Stonebridge" - and traveled the West Coast for two years with their horn section, occasionally singing a song here and there. While in California, Joshua started writing songs and playing the guitar. He later moved to Nashville to learn the craft of songwriting. While in Nashville, Joshua met with some of the biggest songwriters in town and has recorded in great studios down Music Row.

Joshua sings demos for many writers in Nashville, plays guitar and sings background for various artist showcases, all while chasing the dream of being an artist himself. Joshua loves playing the piano and continues to write songs. He hopes that his time on Nashville Star might reconnect him with his birth mother and her side of the family, who he has not seen since he was 11.
