In this RecipeTips.com video demonstration, Chef Laurie shows you how to cook acorn squash quickly with the use of a microwave oven. The microwave cuts the cooking time to less than half that of a conventional oven. If you prefer the unique flavor of winter squash that has been baked in a traditional oven, Laurie shows you how to finish off the microwaved squash under the broiler oven to provide that traditional oven-roasted flavor. Enjoy!
@rrooslet Neither of those statements are true. Japan has microwaves aplenty, and microwaving food retains more nutrients than other types of cooking. A quick google search will show you this. (I tried to put a link here to a new york times piece on the subject but youtube wouldn't let me).

Oh my! Microwave? There goes all the nutrional value of your squash. Dont you know the Microwave kills all nutrients in all foods. I dont own a Microwave for that reason. Cook the old fashion way, use the oven.
FYI Japan doesn t allow any Microwaves in their country.
