Muni's been good to me maybe before 2000, but that was when I was young. I really enjoyed most of my rides, but now, things have changed and have taken a turn for the worst. I heard that they might have to split the SFMTA into two.

It was and still is a pretty common sight to see the N operating inbound from Ocean Beach with the interlocks disabled. The finely-crafted Italian doors are heavy and don't close reliably uphill. It's really rare to see a train operating in the subway with a disabled interlock, though.
Interlocks that prevent forward motion while a door is open are a Federal requirement and are also required by California law and Muni operating rules.
Obviously, disabled interlocks = dead passengers.

You dumb fucks say this is no big deal well what happends if someone trips or looses balance knocking a few hundred people out of the open door onto the tracks. Then what Einstein

@TheGDHGS why the fuck should i relax when someone is smoking weed inside a muni car? however you try to spin it, its illegal dipshit. i dont smoke weed, and i dont want to have to deal with someone filling up the bus im on just cause they wanna get high. you sir, are a fuckwad

That looked like SF Supervisor Scott Wiener right in front of you while filming. He is a new supe looking to make things happen. I would tell your story to him.

@citrin35 jackass whether liberals run this town or not has nothing to do with what we are dealing with here.
-
Relax! why you gotta take the fun out of everything, SF is already boring enough. I don't see how this is a big deal, it is actually a very interesting situation, just relax and enjoy the view.

I don't think people have the right to moan about this. Yes the driver should have made sure the doors were fastened shut, but doing so would have slowed the commute down, backing everyone up.
If people are going to be so nonchalant about the doors as to not alert the driver or even attempt to rectify the situation then why should Muni be held completely accountable. Who's to say the driver even knew the door was open?

All those guys look like they could jump out at any minute. They don't know the train is moving and its dangerous.
Glad you posted this, we need to complain, and complain some more.
MUNI is great. You should try the transit in other cities, what do you all mean. Do you want the drivers to stop passengers from smoking weed on the bus? First of all you are in SF, so you better learn how to relax. Second, if you, a citizen, aren't gonna "fight crime", what makes you think a bus driver should? They are just drivers, not cops, plus the drivers have no control over the door being open. The train is not supposed to drive with the door open and the driver cant see that door!

@TheGDHGS clearly you are miss informed. the driver was aware of this problem! the driver caused the door malfunction because he failed to use a safety pin which would have kept the door from staying open in the subway

Muni drivers are not babysitters or police. Liberals run this town, expect to see bizarre behavior. The courts don't punish bizarre behavior so as long as no one injured, who cares? OTOH, I went to the Muni Office about a senior clipper card, got the form and wanted to buy a fast pass. Extra $3.00 because it was at the Muni office!!!!! Repeat, EXTRA $3.00 BECAUSE, "IT WAS AT THE MUNI OFFICE." HUH?????
