Hey Owen, I don't know if you're working on this still, but when you're playing you want your hi-hat to be really loud, you're hardly playing it at all.
-
You look and sound like you are a rock drummer playing jazz.
-

I wish I could! A friend gave me a bunch of jazz play alongs while I was auditioning for jazz. I can tell you that there are some very awesome jazz play alongs off Tommy Igoes Groove essentials though!
Thanks for the view!

Great job once again Owen - I do have a question.. what's the best (fastest) way to build the independence you have with both hands? I find that's one of the hardest things to do as a drummer... thanks man.. keep the vids coming!

Thanks man! What I did to build jazz co-ordination (and what I do for various latin styles co-ordination) is just play time and sight read snare comping out of this book called Syncopation. It's a must buy. You can also comp on the bass drum and stuff to, and it's a great way to build sight reading!
