@nutblast23 Let me be clear; Clarence Thomas is the ANTITHESIS of Thurgood Marshall. How Marshall make it to the Supreme Court was by his extraordinary jurisprudence; Thomas made it there by spreading his ass cheeks; I don't mentor myself to people based on race but by their principles. Clarence Thomas is actually one of the LEAST experienced people to be appointed to the Court; Cornell West is right.

How can blacks have fought for decades to prove that being black has nothing to do with your principles...only to now argue the exact opposite, that only CERTAIN principles make you a "true" black? Dr. King would be sobbing right now. If not Dr King, I'd like to know who you think was the apt black leader between 1960 and 1990, seeing as the rest (particularly Malcolm X) were obvious violence-mongers. King's famous "content of their character" line was simply saying, "We're equal to you. Give us a chance to show you." Clarence Thomas proved that by rising from what could have been a poor, dumb life in the Georgia swamps to that of a self-made statesman. You need to pick your heroes better. Sad.
