@DDYfan91 That's just it. I never take any head to the a second hand account of what others might say. They all have their own agenda, but to hear him talk about how "He he always knew what was best for the band and should have sole control" and "the only way he would stay/come back was if he had total veto power over all bands decisions" and so many other things. It was the stuff from the horses mouth that gave me that feeling, not a good for nothing Jouralist (which they all are lol)

@mrhoffame My poor fellow. If only you could see how misled you are after watching that putrid anus of "journalism". -_^

After watching the Styx Behind the Music...I never realized just how big a DICK Dennis was. Not because of what others said about him, but because of what he said himself. Man! I will also love Styx, but he has certainly but a bad taste in my mouth about his involvment...which of course was a ton.

sorry folks, but Dennis DeYoung is STYX. Dennis is such a dynamic vocal talent, and he plays a mean keyboard as well. Mr. Dennis DeYoung is a class act all the way ! !

According to The Billboard Book of Top 40 Hits, Styx had eight songs chart in the Top Ten. Seven of those songs were written by Dennis DeYoung. If you look at the songwriter credits on the albums, whoever wrote the song generally sang lead on that song. DeYoung's songs were often romantic rock ballads (Babe, The Best Of Times, etc.), while Tommy Shaw's songs had a harder edge (Renegade, Blue Collar Man, etc.). This mixture of songs made Styx so great.

It's amazing how everyone has a different opinion about styx of yesterday with deyoung, and styx of today with gowan. I have been to plenty of styx concerts with deyoung, and plenty of styx concerts with gowan (yes I am that old), and the bottom line is......they were awesome then, and they are awesome now. DeYoung was and is an amazing talent, but Styx couldn't wait forever for him to move on with them, so they moved on without him. I don't think this is too hard to understand...lol.

I love Steve Perry, he should go back with Neil Schon and Journey.....

@fuzzingaround I just heard that STYX is coming to the Starlight Theatre in KC. Thought about going, but if DDY isn't touring, what's the point in going? They have some impersonator just like Steve Perry from Journey.

Going to see Styx in Birmingham in June, do wish De Young was still there as I last saw Styx in The Empire in Liverpool in 1978! They were excellent in particular DeYoung's stage presence more than a nod to Freddie Mercury. Waited outside for autographs and still today have a somewhat yellowing scrap of paper as evidence of the memory. It was worth the hairy journey overnight on even on a ferry from Belfast packed with brawling drunk squaddies :)

I would give anything to see all them together again one last time
Dennis wrote tons of Styx songs, as Steve wrote for Journey. Bans get greedy, singers who also WRITE take a bigger cut of the profits and everyone gets pissed and jealous. However, De Young is one of the FEW voices from rock that has not gone in the shitter as he has aged. While I find him a bit egotistical and bristley, what the hell: he DESERVES to have a big ego! He stillkicks ass, has rights to his songs and has gigs!

DeYoung was not just a great singer he was the architect of most of their big hits he was a great songwriter who wrote most of Styx's best hits
Come Sail Away , Lady. The Best of Times, Babe Rockin the Paradise etc. those are their best songs and youre wrong. Gowan cant begin to touch DeYoung vocally or as a writer
