Dean & Jenna Tell Frankie They're Engaged

At TOPS, Dean and Jenna are waiting for Felicia and Lucas so they can tell them that the younger couple is engaged. Dean says if they don't show up soon, he and Jenna should just elope right now, and makes like he's going to pick her up and throw her over his shoulder. Jenna tells him that Felicia would hate it and Lucas would kill them if they eloped, and besides their feelings won't change. Dean says that's not true: he'll love her more as time goes on. Jenna says that she hopes Dean loving her as much as he does won't destroy his career, and he tells her their love couldn't destroy anything. They kiss. Then Frankie arrives at TOPS looking for Ryan, but he's not there. She's about to use the phone to try and track him down when Dean and Jenna come in off the balcony and see her. She hugs them both at the same time and tells them how relieved she is to see that they're both safe. Dean says they have some news to share with her. Frankie pinches the bridge of her nose and asks what the news is, but Dean, seeing her so uncharacteristically tense, asks her what's going on. Is it something with Carl? Frankie explains that Carl didn't send Jenna the notes; Frankie had them checked. Jenna asks why Carl kidnapped her, then, if he wasn't her stalker. Frankie replies that Jenna got in the way of something Carl was trying to do, so he panicked and took her. Dean doesn't believe that Carl panicked, but Frankie's explanation makes sense to Jenna, and she tells Frankie and Dean how Carl kept telling her he wasn't going to hurt her, but she was too scared to really listen or believe him. Frankie informs them that Carl's lawyer posted bail, so he's out now, and it's up to Jenna if she wants to press charges. She says that she needs to talk to Felicia and Lucas first, and Frankie says as soon as Jenna makes a decision, call Cass. Dean and Jenna then ask how Ryan's doing because they heard on the radio about what happened with him and Carl. Frankie says she doesn't know, but some things are taking some time to sink in for him. Dean and Jenna tell her to let Ryan know they're there for him if there's anything they can do. Frankie assures them she will, and then asks what their news is. Dean takes Jenna's left hand and holds it up so Frankie can see her engagement ring and tells Frankie that it's official: he and Jenna are engaged. It happened last night at the lake. They didn't want to leave the lake, but they had to come back and face all the D&M stuff, and they're doing it together, so they're going to head over there now. Jenna kisses Dean, hugs Frankie, and goes to leave a message for Felicia and Lucas about where she'll be. When Dean and Frankie are alone, Dean tells Frankie that Jenna's stalker is still out there if it's not Carl, because before the concert, he and Jenna were dancing to a tape and the guy mutilated it, but neither of them saw him. Frankie tells Dean that she'll find out who it is. She's the best P.I. in Bay City. She tells him to take care of Jenna, and leave the rest up to her. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

I know, she was SO ecstatic for Sharlene marrying John, Sharlene's pregnancy, etc...it was odd for the writers/director to have her keep it so toned down here (though like you said there was a lot going in her worlds, but still...)

I don't like Frankie's reaction, or should I say lackthereof. There was more going on at the time, obviously, but Frankie was always one of their biggest supporters. It should have been a bigger deal than that.:(
