I said that Rasputin survived the gunshot wound to the head, among several other notorious wounds, and came alive in the freezing river to claw his way at the ice and break free of his bonds. I support this RECORDED fact under the following arguments......
1. People can survive gunshot wounds to the head. People can survive multiple gun shot wounds and stabbings. Men like Sheriff Buford Pusser are a prime example, he has been shot in the face, shot all over his torso and bladed over every inch of his body with a big knife. Pusser was left for dead several times on the side of a highway and the 6'6" tall Sheriff came back every time before finally dying in a car accident where his vehicle went off a bridge and burned up in flames. Buck Barrow, the brother of Clyde Barrow [bonnie and clyde], was shot in the head and continued to fight the police under bandages until he was captured and dragged to the hospital where he died. And a big hunting knife holds the guiness world record as the largest item that has ever been surgically removed from a human skull without the death of a patient. No fairy tales here.
2. Rasputin has a long history of hard knocks and bizarre feats of endurance. He was nearly drowned as a youth during a swim where his brother Dmitri was killed. He was pitch forked in the face during his wild days before he found God [an angry neighbor caught Rasputin stealing fence posts and rightly let him have it in the face after Raspy started to swing an axe at him. Rasputin went down, and the neighbor thought he was dead until the tough russian bastard got right back up and began staggering like a drunk and slurring his words. The neighbor observed that Rasputin had an awkward way of speaking afterward and never recovered te ability to speak normally. Raspy also carries a notable scarring from the pitch fork incident.]. Rasputin, now a holy man, was gutted by an angry hooker who posed as a beggar and stabbed him in the belly as he was reaching in his pockets for change [Rasputin often gave away most of his earnings to the poor]. The hooker then pulled up the knife a dragged it all the way up his chest and almost near his throat. Rasputin's daughters rushed him to the hospital where they held in their father's insides as the carriage bumped along the rocky street. All of this, and much more, happening before his infamous death.
3. Photographs tell the tale of nearly everything Rasputin went through. His nose was broken, his eye was anging out of socket, there was clearly a scuffle. He was shot 4 times and attacked with bladed and blunt objects. He bled profusely, even on his trip to the river after he was shot through the head, the freezing water gave him frostbite all over his body and there is scarring around his hands where Rasputin allegedly came alive in the water and clawed at the ice and pulled off his bonds where they had him tied up and wrapped in a sheet.
Now one is truly dead until there heart stops beating. Any one who bleeeds is still alive. Also, I don't think bodies can get frostbite unless they are still alive. Frostbite happens through the bodies defense mechanism to fight a chill, a body that is already dead will find itself in a position where it will not have the capacity to form frostbite [in theory].
Water was found in the lungs and Rasputin's arms were found in the upright position as if he were trying to break through the ice when he was submerged. It was the opinion of every one who found and examined the body that Rasputin came alive in the icy river and clawed and punched his way at the ice. Some go far enough to say he climbed out of the ice.
The poisoning is still debated, and it is assumed that the assassins bungled the poisoning by baking the laced cakes and thus evaporating the Cyanide.
4. Russians are hard to kill. One on one they are cockroaches.
ok first let me say sorry i dont like to prfl people but hey. so most of what u said was heavily over spoken.(good for infosizing but over done). second i liked u had faks allways love to see people have real material for an argument. naw u have some good shit here but some is easy to see as guess work.
so just food for thought giving u a bit of fun to argue^_^
(sry for my shity spelling.)
p.s. if IF he lived he has some real big balls. however i would never hold it to him should he have died.

@smackfanxion
Rasputin's winky was over 13 inches long according to some of his women partners, so he probably did have "big balls" as you imagine.
I can't altogether understand what you're saying but you are part right, I did a lot of guess work about how long people bleed after they die and whether a dead body can get frostbite. I'd like for you to tell me where else you think I am making guess work if there is something else you were referencing.

what made you so interested in Rasputin

Because he's so widely discussed and so regularly misunderstood. There's also the fact that he's considered to have supernatural powers so I naturally wanted to investigate and see if that held any credibility.
The original spur of interest would've probably been the Big Book of Weirdos, then the Anastasia movie, and also a book of assassinations which told me many of the valuable things about Russia. Nowadays he's very near to my heart and I'm a better man for knowing about him.
