@bossmonkeykj You did not win, but you sure are running away! Hey,we could have used more people like you in Vietnam, where we stayed too long. Declare victory and leave, despite the reality.

All the good things in society like schools, hospitals, universities, orphanages and charities were begun first byreligious believers. Today, these things are still funded through taxes and directly by the religious. The atheist plan to do good? Tax the religious and give them no credit.

There's plenty of benefit to citing Pol Pot and Joseph Staling, the world's most famous indisputably atheist leaders. From an atheist viewpoint, what's the difference between a cockroach and a religious believer? The cockroach eats less and doesn't pose an idealogical threat.

Hitchens was an unabashed hate-monger. He said relgion should be treated "with hatred and ridicule and contempt." That was his choice.

@bossmonkeykj Yes, many things cause tension between children at school, few things that cause tension are more important to a child's good development than religious belief. Hitchens put himself out there with his beliefs and invited debate and discussion. That was his choice. I choose to criticize him and his beliefs.  That's welcome and permitted. Authors and promoters like Hitchens love the controversy. Why do you twist that to scrutinize me? Because Hitchens is a hate-monger.

@RakeeshJ4 I'm never crowing to myself. If you wish to compare good religious believers to bad relgiious believers, I'll win no contest. Likewise, and in contrast, the number of bad atheists like Pol Pot, Joseph Stalin, and Christopher Hitchens greatly outnumber the few atheists who are known for their selflessness and atheism.

@matt605 the animosity was still created by religion. as for Stalin and Pol Pot, read previous post. not sure why you brought them up when I've already made it clear that there was no use in doing so

@matt605 I've seen you jump on that "nothing about your own beliefs" in other conversations-not sure how you can enjoy having the same conversation over and over.I never said anything about what your views may be,just that you should be tolerant of views outside your own, and accommodate as many people as possible.I have to say I disagree with prohibiting wearing of jewelry and whatnot, and would say that's going too far.Though I can see how religion at school may cause tension between children.
