We asked education experts on school funding - our members - what they're seeing in their schools. Here's what Eugene educators and friends Ashley Pond and Shelley Watson had to say. Ashley is a new teacher with overcrowded classrooms, who is still looking at a potential layoff from lack of funding. Shelley is a speech-language pathologist with an enormous caseload way above the national recommendation for special needs students. Even with increasing burdens, both Ashley and Shelley take great pride in the work and find inspiration in their students.
