  • A silicon-based heatsink compound. You can find it at Radio Shack or any other electronics store

  • So all you did was clean/ replace the thermal compound? Did you take out the x clamps or leave them in?

    Mine has been struck with the same problem. And from what I can gather the three year warranty only covers the RROD, not this.

  • I removed clamps, cleaned the old compound off both the gpu,cpu, and heatsink, put on new compound, and replaced clamps with spacers and nuts. In other words, I screwed on the cpu/gpu and heatsink. Throw the x-clamps in garbage (where they belong).

    the 3-year warranty covers the 3/4 ring of death (=hardware failure due to overheating of gpu).

  • i c u used cotton swabs. what chemical did u use i tryed aclohal and it kinda worked....kinda i get a grafical glitch <.< sooo...yea help me out here

  • Rubbing alcohol.

  • why doesent any one sue xbox for bull shit products

  • That's why MS offers a 3 year warranty for the 3-Red-Ring...if they didn't, they would have probably faced a forced recall of all the 360s and even worse bad press...

    •96% tin and 4% silver (430°F, 221°C);

    •97.5% lead and 2.5% silver (581°F, 305°C)

    •0.75% tin, 97.5 % lead and 1.75% silver (590°F, 310°C).
