Thanks for posting this. I loved this piece and how it developed, version after version. The final version (7" release & BBC TV's "Top of the Pops" theme music) was produced by Midge Ure (of Ultravox, Visage, The Rich Kids, & Band Aid). Ure, Billy Currie (Ultravox) & Darren Wharton (Thin Lizzy) played synthesizer(s). Rusty Egan (Visage) played drums. Go to YCSMusic on YouTube ot hear :)

I love this tune. This demo is superb and a bit like the early version on yellow pearl collection album. Anyway THANKS.

Nice one!

The 7" single was released on both black and clear vinyls. The black vinyl ran to 2.58 and was just like the 'Top of the Pops' version. The clear one is longer (3.21) and is less 'full on' than the black vinyl version. If you want both mixes, get both coloured versions!

Used to enjoy his Saturday show on the original Virgin 1215 back in 1993

You are truly an idiot. Take your computer and dump it in the toilet because what you're saying is total shit. Phil had nothing to do with Visage, in the same way that Steve Strange and Billy Currie had nothing to do with Yellow Pearl.

in those days I wonder if it was good for your street cred or embarrassing to have your music used as a TOTP theme tune?

This is the (ULTRAVOX) version of a bit before they called VISAGE, i think to remember its made by Steve Strange, Midge Ure and Billy Currie ... the 12" Vinyl was yellow aswell ... sorry, thats not the Philip Lynott version.
