Dan Eldon was an artist and photojournalist who grew up in Kenya and was one of the first to bear witness to the famine in Somalia. He was killed on assignment in 1993 when he was only 22-years-old.

Dan left behind 17 artistic journals in which he documented his own life through art.

The Art of Life is a portrait of Dan as artist, photojournalist and humanitarian - whose short but passionate life became a source of inspiration to many others.

  • Many Peace cor young people from The U.S.A. ARE ATTACKED AND KILLED EVERY YEAR.IF YOU LIVE IN A PLACE WHERE THE CULTURE IS VIOLENT YOUR TIME TO DIE WILL COME SOONER .

  • @kim621100 wow ur frigging IGNORANT! what the hell do u know about africa? have u been there b4 do u know what goes on in certain countries? he made awareness of what was happening at the time & do u really think by that sending ur kids to africa they will all end up dead?im from africa and ive seen a lot of white people come and go in peace, the reason he died is because it was his fate/ or time to die u cant decide where u die when ur time comes u leave regardless of where you are!

  • Why was the mob that killed him mad at him?? What did this rich white person do for the black Africans??? Did he teach them how to farm??They always rape and kill white American women from the USA Peace Corps. It is never reported. Do not let your children go to Africa or they may have the same fate . The attacks on the Peace corp vols. are never reported.

  • This wonderful man was clearly the product of an extraordinary family. I was on the Kenya/Somali border in 1984 and met many refugees. Despite the safety of being in Kenya, the hardships and fear those people had endured made me positive I didn't have the guts to go there. Dan obviously did.

  • I just met his story at college and I think he was amazing, a truly wonderful person.

  • He is truly an inspiration to me.. and really incredible story.

  • legacy <3 through and through...he was precious
