Vivekanand is, far and away, the best male singer thus far in iss2008, be it in voice quality, difficulty level of song chosen, enunciation of the Malayalam language (Dasettan "spudatha" ennu parayum), mastery of classical music, etc. Add to this the fact that he is an accomplished violinist and few will dispute that we have identified the STAR in ISS2008!

Now, consider this scenario:

A man named Mr E.Vil has a protege among the current 12 contestants who is doing quite well but is just below Vivek. But Mr Vil VERY BADLY wants "his boy" to win the Rs 1cr flat. What does he do?
He approaches Vivek directly/indirectly and makes a "cash offer" for abdicating his position. Why should he accept? No reason!

Next scenario:
Asianet has realized it has hit a jackpot with ISS 2008. Not content with its success, it has decided to take this unusual step of asking its STAR to "trip up" unexpectedly, albeit in a most natural, unsuspecting way!
Needless to say, this one glitch will shoot up ISS ratings as well as skyrocket Vivekanand's fame!

Next scenario:

Vivek's mind went blank and he simply FORGOT the words OR singing the "higher notes" caused his throat to pain (observe his face during singing). The decision not to continue any further was probably because, being the perfectionist that he is, he must have found it too hard to "somehow finish the song"! (Paathi nirthiya paattu engineyum paadi poorthiyakkan Vivek agrahichilla ennu thonnunnu).

Which of these scenarios is true? ONLY Vivek knows.

One thing I know as a singer and that is... such sudden and inexplicable loss of voice is a very rare phenomenon. The only case I can think of was Minmini of the "chinna chinna ashai" fame, who lost her voice COMPLETELY for 2 yrs. But this "selective voice loss" is VERY, VERY rare.

  • thnk you my friend for agreeing with me. i really dont like people hating on someone jus because of a failed attempt or a mistake. if these people think he's unworthy, let them enter iss and win the show :P

  • well, all you people who blame him for stopping and call him a fake, you apparently don't sing. if you do, you must know that there are times when your throat go into total submission. it is hard to return once tht happens

  • I think this guy totally deserve the ISS winner. He got only 40 nd he became the winner wow..I never seen a singer saying ' lets stop i cant sing anymore' Also I was surprise by the way he was behaving...If i were him i would be crying, but he was strong...SO I would say he is such a great singer ..May god bless him for ever

  • poor boy --- drishti will end and he will come up

  • drishti poor boy is a sufferer.

God bless he wii come up

  • It can happen. But i think Asianet and the judges were criticising him so much which was unnecessary. They want to give it so much importance exactly what happened with Arun Gopan which brought them so much publicity

  • hi!!!
