I have to wonder what happens if the rotation becomes fast enough for the glass to extend beyond the mold. I don't use protective gear for standard glassblowing, but I'd feel awfully vulnerable doing this.

Nervewracking stuff.  It looks impossible that you just scoop it up on a stick to go in the kiln. Fantastic to be able to see this being done.
