Inspired by Carter Rabasa's excellent FriendFeed helper apps ff2disqus and twitter2ff, I've decided to try the Google App Engine for myself. I had a clean Vista install so I had to download three things: 1) Python from python.org, 2) The GAE itself, and 3) EasyEclipse for Python - a Python-oriented customization of the open source Eclipse development environment. Getting started took about ten minutes and has been painless so far! Edit: I also like Ben Hedrington's Spy.appspot.com.
