Our Scoutmaster, Mr. S., had the opportunity to perform a Christmas Bugle Fanfare during the December 24, 2011 Christmas Eve Midnight Mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, in North Hollywood, California. He played it on his Rexcraft Regulation Bugle. Mr. S. had been given the challenge to play a short Christmas Fanfare on the bugle, with organ accompaniment, to signal the beginning of the Christmas Eve Midnight Mass. This would happen just before St. Patrick's Choir began the Mass Processional. As far as we knew, this hadn't been done with a Regulation bugle and organ accompaniment before. One issue was to develop a call that wouldn't sound too much like a military bugle call. After all, it was for Christmas Eve's Midnight Mass. Our Scoutmaster was accompanied by Mr. Ariel Marqueses on the organ. This simple fanfare for Regulation Bugle and organ was developed by Mrs. S., our Scoutmaster's wife, and St. Patrick's Choir Director.
