Actually Both Rorscach and Night Owl represent two sides of Batman.
One side is very dark while the other is heroic and filled with useless gadgets

@Leigori if u wanna get technical nite owel is based otherworld blue beatle. I personally think hes closer to batman but it says in the back of the book that nite owels blue beetle, rorschacks the question (obviously), dr. manhattan is captain atom, ozymandanian is thunderbolt (i dont know who that is)
-
Actually, you're all wrong. All the heroes in Watchmen are based off existing heroes:
Dr. Manhattan: Captain Atom, Silk Spectre: Nightshade/Black Canary, Nite Owl: Blue Beetle, Rorschach: Mr. A and the Question, Ozymandias: Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt
The Comedian: The Peacemaker.
Batman is very different from both Rorschach and Nite Owl, even if there are some common characteristics they share.

@Leigori Better? heh. Night Owl AND Rorschach are both simils of Batman, of different aspects of him because they are criticism.Neither of them is supposed to inspire respect, one is wanton the other is a gadgety geek. Moore did not intend them to "outdo" other superheros because they were more badass or grittier he intented to question the superhero notion showing how unbalanced it would make a real human being. Snyder didnt get that, the lame costumes are meant to make em look maladjusted.
-
@Leigori if you REALLY want to get technical, yes, night owl is ment to be a rip off of batman, but, rorschach is ment to represent what batman or the question would be like if he excisted in our world..... a lunatic
-
Dr Manhattan is the only SUPERhero in Watchmen
-
@Leigori Nite owl is the early batman and rorsachach is the dark knight to a point. Rorschach as you say is welling to kill unlike batman.

i don't like the voice actor here. it sounds like the computer voice they use in arby & the chief, which i don't watch, but i know the voice.
-
no i don't mean literally or soley based on those characters. Rorschach was meant to be (as Alan Moore says in an interview about Watchmen) like Batman in the real world and the look is the quesiton (roughly) and the name Nite Owl came form Dave Gibbons childhoos, it's all in the book "Watching the Watchmen".
-
@TaskMaster619 No. Alan Moore wrote the story about characters DC had just aquired, but had to change it so the characters could still be used. Nite Owl was Blue Beetle, Rorschach is the Question.
If you wanna get technical, Night Owl is a rip off of Batman.
Besides Rorschach is better than Batman for one solid reason... Batman wouldn't kill ya. Rorschach has absolutely no qualms doing exactly that.
