  • Is this the ASA series, ARCA, or the All Pro series? By the looks of drivers like Bob Senneker and Scott Hanson, it looks like ASA. By the way, Casey Elliott died of cancer in January of 1996 while the NASCAR drivers were down in Daytona for winter testing.

  • No, this race was run under the NASCAR All Pro Series banner. A bunch of the ASA regulars decided to come race it in this year, mainly because they had an off weekend. Other than 1987 when it was run under the Stock Car Connection, I rate this year as the best.

  • do you have the clip of chad chaffin waving to bob senneker when chad took the lead

  • I wanted to put that clip in, but I was trying to keep it under 10 minutes, like I have to. If I would have had the time this whole race would be put up.

I have 1993 too, look for that in the future.

  • This was on of the most prestigious short track races of all time. Long live the old ASA touring series and Nascar All Pro series. At least we have the CRA series to uphold the old short track traditions.

  • What great times for the track. Now it's in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. I'll always love my Fairgrounds. Screw the Superspeedway. IndyCar put on the only watchable races there.

  • I was there . Great races those All American 400's were. Liked all those guys but Senneker was my favorite then

  • LOL, Bobby Gill and Billy Bigley, Jr.

  • I have a couple of these old races on tape, including one very early one with Dale Earnhardt Jr. before he was even in the Busch series. I don't know if it was the All-American 400, but it would be in the mid to late 90's. If I could ever find it, I'd post it up here because it's probably some pretty rare footage.

  • I remember watching this race every year not so long ago, and then it disappeared from TV. It was always a great race and that old Nashville track was the BEST racing anywhere. Whatever it was with the layout of that track, I don't think I ever saw a bad race there. When they went to the new track, I was so p.o.'d I've never watched a race on TV from there. Jeff Purvis used to kill them here, and I became a big fan. Tim Steele was another good driver whose career was wrecked by a bad injury.

  • vol5198 youre right in that this is a so called minor league. BUT they dont even televise this stuff anymore the gerat cup and busch series and irl,f1 alms have monopolized tv coverage and it sucks DOWN WITH THE CUP!!! KILL THE BIG SERIES i hope this economic downturn wrecks the big series so we can get back to real, pure racing

  • For years, NASCAR had a national touring series called All-Pro. They actually had Slim Jim as one of its sponsors.

  • I was there. I loved the All American 400 and this is the greatest racetrack in the world. A lot of great racers learned their trade here. I miss the fairgrounds track. Much better than that cookie cutter they have now. We used the go to this race every year. Some great racing.
