Watch the giant spider of Liverpool arrive at the city hall, wake up after a sleep and, in dramatically speeded up footage, crawl up a building to rest. La Princesse, a mechanical spider, was created by a French company, La Machine, as part of the Liverpool European Capital of culture programme.

  • In part 3 you can actually appreciate how ridiculous it's gait actually is

  • If it moved like a real spider it would have looked much better!

  • The good thing about having spider for dinner is everybody gets a leg.

  • It depends on how many people there are for dinner :-)

  • Not that it isn't impressive, but what does a giant mechanical spider have to do with European culture?

  • A good question! I'm not sure!
