Sonic & Knuckles 3D - Mushroom Hill Zone

Mushroom Hill Zone from Sonic & Knuckles recreated in widescreen 3D. This is just a video, and not a playable game. It was animated over an actual gameplay video of S&K that I recorded. It was designed as a graphical demo to see how well classic Sonic gameplay and level design would adapt to 2.5D.

This was made over the course of about 2-3 weeks from scratch inbetween other work (excluding render times, which were fairly short anyway).

Created with 3DS Max and composited in Adobe After Effects.

Yeah to bad it probably took like 5 hours to render, so its not an actual engine, like the hedgehog engine. Good job on the beams of light, and the camera and sonic blurring.

The new graphics are good, but the new music.......better stick to the originals. or go all out ala Sonic Generations.

@MetalGearCherVik i didn't know that i'm not much of a sonic fan, the last game i played was for the gameboy advance, the guy i was talking to thinks that just because this is an animation and not a game its impossible for someone to get an idea from it and then make a game based off of it
