How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Steve shows us how in this riveting 9 minute documentary. Starting in a New York Taxi Cab, the audience is taken on an epic journey replete with stunning vistas of pigeons, grandparents, and clapping audience members all wishing they'd been savvy enough to think "documentary" earlier that day while in B&H photo in mid-town Manhattan. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'd wish you'd seen "Mama Mia" and gotten tickets to "Wicked". You'll regret you took the Lincoln Tunnel. You'll wish you'd told your children the beatings will continue until the scales are played perfectly. You'll see the formula (some parts dramatized for effect) for getting to Carnegie Hall played out through an American life not unlike the American lives of millions of others who have wanted to live the American Dream of being adulated by 3,500 people at Carnegie Hall. Only this time...-this- time....one of us actually got there. The Steve. The Talent. The Commitment. The Bass. The Carnegie. The Hall. You'll see it all, as only one can see it after it's been posted on YouTube.

When shown the rushes, documentarian Ken Burns said "I don't know how I missed this one. I'd love to tell the American story of 'Hey Steve...provided, of course, we can cut a tuition and bass deal with Steve...." (pausing)....."no, not Spielberg". Kevin Costner has expressed strong interest in playing young Steve, provided his agent can pull him from his next project "Dances With Golf Clubs" before filming starts in April. Negotiations are still underway. Unconfirmed reports have been whispered that Steve reportedly wants the remaining 2 years at Indiana, spring trips that extend well beyond southern Indiana to places like Daytona and South Padre, and a $25,000 bonus for an "audition bass" before he is to even consider releasing the rights to an already-salivating and clearly interested helmer Burns. When asked directly about the bonus rumors Steve dead-panned "Well, someone has to keep the agents busy. May as well be me".

Indeed. He is keeping the agents and loan officers busy as he waits for a chance to nibble on his next project, the reality TV series "Getting to Carnegie". Featuring a house-full of bass players in Bloomington, Indiana and the trials and tribulations they face paying monthly utilities, rent, eating each other's food, drinking the very last beer and.....eating the very last piece of pizza, this reality show is sure to delight America. Simon Cowell, when contacted about rumors he would be host, simply smiled and said "Ask Paula". One can only wonder what the future holds given the buzz and interest generated by THIS houseful!

America awaits!

  • BEST Liner notes on YT!

I think critics may sum it up as "The Bitter Sweet Story of a Boy and His Dog and his Bass and his Grandparents and His Father...in 2-D."

  • That was a fantastic video!!!! Keep up the good work, Steve!
