The orchestration of this on Arthur is probably the most moving composition in rock history. It's nice to see an audience finally find this gem. What can you say about the kinks, she's got everything
The man moves an incredibly large audience with his music while playing just an acoustic guitar and a chorus that is anything but rock oriented -- yet, Ray Davies...an enduring rock icon proves his legendary status.
Finally Ray gets others to sing along. I don't like going to a concert and being prompted to sin the song. I came to hear you friend. You must see people singing along from up there. Luv you Ray. At least you look fit and you gots some hair
This is one of the very rare epic from Ray Davies in his time with The Kinks. While it is apparent that the song is still under the level of Freebird, Stairway to Heaven, Baba o'Riley, or I'm Your Captain (Closer to Home)...but this is a very example of a Ray Davies epic, how he make a long duration song, which is different with his usual short, story telling and funny songs in Kinks catalogue.

I hate to say it, but Ray has really tarnished the legend of the Kinks with this crap. In front of thousands and thousands of people on top of it. Where did he get this choir from some "Charlie Brown and the Choir Featuring Lucy and Linus" video? Absolutely the rock bottom for Ray.
