Jack Scalfani shares his favorite Southern dessert.

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients
* 1/2 cup butter
* 2 cups white sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 4 eggs
* 1 tablespoon cornmeal
* 1/4 cup evaporated milk
* 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
* 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust

Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
2. In a large bowl, mix the butter, sugar and vanilla together. Mix in the eggs, then stir in the cornmeal, evaporated milk and vinegar until smooth.
3. Bake for 1 hour. Take out of oven and let cool. Cut and top servings with whipped cream. You will think you have died and gone to heaven.

  • would ordinary milk be the same as evaporated?

  • @radiculousraneem no. Evaporated milk is thicker. you can buy a can of it at the store on the baking aisle.

  • I made this today for my boyfriend's birthday and when I pulled it out of the oven, I could see some swishing under the top brown layer and thought I messed it up. But I let it set for a while and it solidified. But there's like two layers, the top one looks like your pie and the bottom looks a little liquidy though. Still good!

  • @zeldafreak701 it should be cooked at 350 for one hour. if it still looks liquidy then put back in for about 10 more minutes. It should be more custard inside. it will thicken when cool.

  • thanks jack. LOL I love your show it cracks me up every time I watch it. I also love your Jack on the go Show..haha well done . Are you also italian?

  • @Fitange yes. 100% Italian. Born and raised in Cali, but love my Italian heritage.

  • Tastes just like Pecan pie but without nuts.

  • I LOVE THE CESHES PEA

  • just a little tip, you should bake the pie shells for a few minutes before putting the mixture in it (and then bake it all together)
