@VWC318 He got mad quite often but he was blowing smoke, he never meant any of it, he wouldn't have fired a soul he just wanted his musicians to play PERFECT every time and when they didn't play in his style he got mad, and he had the right to, because he was the one writing their checks

I've heard this recording many times and wonder how bad a performance it was to precipitate this much anger. This was not his only rant. If it was that bad, why didn't he fire the entire band? Becasue he needed them for the next gig. Does anyone know where and when this occurred? Is there a recording of it. He makes it sound like the entire band except for him is at fault. No one could play right that night? Yes Buddy was a genius and perfectionist but could you work for a person like this?

this is funny, brilliant. I love it! Yes, Buddy did not know how to treat people when the chips were down. But I did meet him 6 times around the USA....I mean meet him not just a hand shake. This is good! Great link and insert. I am laughing still as I type this! :-)

The only a-hole, is the a-hole who doesn't understand human nature. Nor do you appreciate the time, and hard work it takes to become one of the greatest, and obviously you have no understanding of simple economics.....if I pay you, you do the job or get out....duh!
