After preservation groups fought for months to save it, a Sears mail-order home at 6501 27th Place in Berwyn met its end Thursday morning, when demolition crews razed the 80-year-old house to make room for the expansion of Berwyn Park District facilities.
And why do you think you needed to plow that over? Wait, probably someone with a big wallet hired you.

This was painful to watch. What a waste of a fantastic quality home. Rose knows what she's talking about.

I agree with Rose Thornton. It should have been salvaged, not destroyed. Criminal. This was a historic Sears Catalog home. It is disgusting!

This house being destroyed is a Sears Vallonia, one of their nicer home. These houses were made with #1 southern yellow pine, first-growth lumber harvested from virgin forests, the likes of which we will never see again. It is a sin that this house was destroyed.
At the very least, it should have been salvaged, not destroyed. Disgusting.
