Sometime between the fall of '94 and the spring of '95, when I was living in the dorms at UNLV, I set my VCR to record the cartoon "The Tick" because I'd be sleeping at that time. I didn't have cable or anything, so when I checked the tape, I found that it was all fuzzy because the antenna didn't always work well. I went through the tape and was surprised to find I had recorded people's answering machine messages! Anyone else ever experience that?

I also find it strange/hilarious that because Frank took her car, Tiffany's mom has been "crying all night".

  • The bad TV recording and the good voice recordings -suggests that the VCR was picking up a signal BETWEEN the telephone signal and the TV signal. It simply receives a signal - PERIOD - where it comes from - the VCR does not care!!!!!! For example cordless phones today are between 7.0 and 9.9 Mhz and the TV was probably at 10 Mhz - and the VCR is monitoring 7.0 -10.0 Mhz - for the VCR and picked up the phone signal!!!!! It happens - RARE but it does happen!!!!!

  • Lol give my mummy her car back. Could hardly hear what she was saying.

I understand that but even if it were an answering machine, in no way shape or form connected to the television, why is it outputting a frequency in which the television or VCR could pick up?

  • @bluemileDOTca

This mustve been before your time. Long before they had voicemails you people had answer machines. You would leave a message for the person, and it be be recorded on to a tape which couldbe played back.

  • lol "gobble gobble gobble" I used to get in some weird stuff too. its from your antennae. coulda been someone listening to their messages on a cordless phone or cell phone and you just happen to have the right frequency.

  • i once did the same thing and i recorded a very fuzzy video of someone playing Mario on Nintendo NES. can someone explain me how that happened?
