  • Hello!

    thanks for your comments!

yes , you are right!! that is a "problem"with harps.. the continuos ringing of the strings, specially at the bass..

i actually do "damping" specially on the early Clairseach or early Irish harp, is a technique used on this kind of harps that i also use sometimes on European early harps....

any way.. this Chaconne sounds its best on the theorbo!!! an instrument that i like a lot..

nice comment by the way ;) i agree with you!

  • great transcription and interpretation!!

sorry, only 5 stars possible at this scale ;-)

though, the sound on the theorbo is somewhat more graceful, due to the very long ringing of the bass strings at the harp (and on most baroque lutes too) in same cases, when the harmony already had already turned to the next chord.

but this is a question of personnel taste, and kindly consider, i also play music from different other instruments on the theorbo and vihuela ;-))) .

    regards - Siegfried

  • Thanks a lot!

yes, i though it was good idea to play it on harp...

    gracias!

  • congratulations for your theorbo!
