Long-time Gainesville resident, Norah Givens, lives close to the still active Cabot-Koppers Superfund Site which lies at the very heart of the city and pollutes neighborhoods and waterways for miles around with dioxins, arsenic, and other such highly toxic and dangerous carcinogens. On the Public Record, she asks some of the many important questions on the lips of numerous local residents, to which there has been virtually no effective response or beneficial corrective action from any level of government since the site was federally listed nearly 27 years ago!
Then why did you move your family there? And when you found out what was there did you move? This is just like the situation of a women that is beat every day by here husband but she wont leave him because she loves him so much.

I live in Stephen Foster as well. The kind of ongoing health ordeal Ms.Givens describes is far too common in our area to be coincidental in this neighborhood situated adjacent to the Cabot-Koppers Superfund Site. The site was designated Superfund 25 years ago, yet permits are regularly issued to the multinational Koppers to keep polluting our city with CCA's! 25 years of corporate poisoning and EPA testing while residents sicken and die; 25 years while the contamination continues to spread...
