Remixes don't have to have the same vibe as the original songs, they just need to sound good to your ear. Sure there will be few people who won't like them, but as long as most of the people like them, I'm happy too.

Well, I don't think Pac's "When We Ride On Our Enemies" pella fits the "wishing on the star" beat, but it's still a great song.
