New series. Lemme know what you think:)
Thanks! :)
My name's Peyton. I'm not complicated, and I'm happy. I have an amazing best friend, Abby. Who's gorgeous and can dance like no other. It's summer break. Summer, you know. The season where the smell of fresh cut grass enters your nose, and it stays 'till the brisk of cold comes in late September. And somehow a boy is related. See, the past summers haven't worked out the way I imagined. The whole boy part, hasn't happened yet. Which is perfectly fine, but a boy wouldn't hurt. I'm not desperate.
"What one should I wear?" Abby asked, holding a black dress alternating with a white one. I rolled my eyes. It was the concert of the year. The big sha-bang. The one all the girls 'dreamed' over. Apparently, every girl but me. And of course, I get dragged into it. She's my best friend, what was I suppose to say?
"Well?" she raised her eyebrows.
"I don't know... the white one.." I shrugged. I wasn't goth, and surely not 'messed up.' I just wasn't into this so called 'band.' There's more to life that obsessing over a bunch of teenage boys who suck up fame and want more.
"Are you getting dressed?" she asked from the bathroom.
"Yeah, yeah" I muttered, staring at the yellow dress shirt and black leggings with a necklace she had laid out on the bed or me.
I sighed and gave into myself and put the outfit on. Ok, I looked decent.
Within' three hours we were stuck in traffic, I was stuck driving.
"You know you're paying for gas, right?" I warned her, putting my head in the palm of my hand that was resting on the door.
"What? No" she defended.
"Uh, yeah. You dragged me out here" A smile grew on my face. I suck at being serious.
She sighed. "I'll pay half"
"Deal" I said, gradually pushing the gas pedal with my flip-flop.
As we got there, I had a stomach ache, and my feet hurt. I was tired from the traffic.
By that time it was dark, and the stage was dark.
"Are you sure they're even coming? What if it's all a scam?" I snickered.
Abby laughed. "Shut up, I think you'll like them. And being two rows back... thousands of girls would DIE to be in your position"
"Uh, yeah" I rolled me eyes. I REALLY didn't want to be here.
The stage got dark then orange and yellow lights lit up to the beat. I've heard this song before.
Then the three boys rose to the stage level, as screams over powered my ear drums. I jumped up and down and clapped so I didn't look totally displaced.
There were two with a guitar, and one with just a mic.
The short one with the guitar started to sing, as girls screamed louder.
Being two rows back, I got a good look at the main singer. He was pretty good looking, if I say so myself. The other two were too, but something just clicked. Very weird.
I mean, I am NOT turning into one of those little tweenies, but he was pretty good looking. As he sang, you could hear the passion in his voice, not the greatest voice in the world, but decent for a... I think 20 year old... I think that's what Abby told me over and over again for a half and hour one night last week.
There was some type of spark in his eyes.
I was quickly and emotionally drawn to him.
And from now on, I don't think I could ever stop the force.
I was officially hooked.
:)
