often times issues such as this are, shall we say over the head of many, me in particular. now this doesnt mean that i couldnt learn more about the subject, but then there are scientists that have spent years researching this very subject, and when these scientists come to much different conclusions, well, where does that leave me,,,well, when one side is caught fudging the data, then i have to assume they are hiding something, which in science is never a good thing

I'm not suggesting character is not an issue. Only that when pundits for the counter point of view use that in an argument instead of providing there own scientific evidence to refute the claims that its usually politically motivated and questionable at best.

@KiheiLawyer in the past 30 years, but the issue is whether HUMANS caused it, and thus, is there anything we can do to affect it. It is so obvious that given the 1970s "ice age" theory versus today's CO2 theories, we either do not know or don't know enough to make a determination.

@MrCaltec Character is the most important issue!! If the character of the person doing the research is in question, then all data derived from that research is in question. Environmental scientists are naturally inclined to blame people for climate change. They love the environment and are biased in doing the research. They do not know why the tree ring test fails after the 1960s, yet they just ASSUME there is a reason other than that they are wrong. Of course there has been a warming...

The problem with your assertions is that the deniers have been doing the denying of CW before this incdent took place. "This" incident underscores the many years or skepticism that went unheard due to the overwhelming and unquestioning support of this consensus science by the mainstream press. And your latter assumption is also fallacy as you cannot prove his postion has truely skewed his objectivity anymore than a scientist that wants to just believe something is right on the cache of others.

Here here Rodney!! I'm originally from DC and lived for years with the threat that by 1999 the Atlantic would be cresting around the base of the Washington Monument. Science with a political agenda is nobody's friend.
