IMHO the best boxing is done at the smaller divisions. The smaller boxers are just fast and have stamina like a energizer bunny. The punch volume in those divisions just dominate the higher divisions. What Manny is able to do is bring those characteristics up to welterweight. Welterweights are just not prepared to fight a featherweight that hits hard as shit.

I am a big cotto fan and hope he keeps fighting. But I don't see anything he could of done to beat pacquiao. The man gave it his best and like always they don't realize what they are getting into. Diaz, DLH, Hatton, and Cotto have just never faced someone like pacman.

But u do have a point....IF they do have a rematch and Cotto decided to outbox the SMALLER guy (which is kinda funny cos hes supposedly the bigger stronger guy) then MAYBE cotto can win. Although there is still a pretty good chance in the later rounds cotto will get a bit slower and get caught by a big punch and he will be beaten up again. IMO cotto does not have such a good chin as most think he has..whereas the pacman has a much better chin than what ppl realised. He clearly showed it.

Maybe you should learn to stop predicting against the pacman? Your making excuses for Cotto now lol.. He did try to outbox manny in the first few rounds but he got hit a few times in round 3 and decided to take the fight to manny. But as u saw in round 4 he got caught with a huge uppercut and he was badly hurt..the whole fight turned around in that moment...the momentum totally shifted to Pac. Cotto tried to outbox again at round 5 and had some success...but its too late hes already hurt n slow.

The only man who could afford to trade with Pacquiao was Marquez, because of his style. Mayweather wouldn't, because he's not the kind of fighter who is successful when trading, especially against someone fast like Manny. Judah and Mosley are the fastest guys that Mayweather fought, and they both were able to catch him and stagger him. However, they were not good enough to finish him. To finish Mayweather, you need to do it with combinations to the body and to the head, like DLH finished Vargas.

I think even if he kept boxing it wouldn't have done much. When he was getting clean shots in the early rounds it just wasn't doing enough to Pacquiao and Pacquiao's straight lefts through the center was rocking him onto his back foot.

i dont think cotto can keep a distance just by using his jab.. pacquiao can still close the distance when he wants to nowadays.. it's his superior footwork that will close the distance and weird angles to create knockdowns..hehe
