@usblueflyer Aside from expectation - as well as Constitutional mandate - I think Wills will do it right and proper.

@itsanillusion100 I must concur. The Charter of the Virignia Company is still in effect today. Before James I signed the Company Charter he made certain that the Sovereign was made the largest shareholder (naturally, of course). To my knowledge, that agreement has never been annulled.

@usblueflyer Time will tell. I really hope that this ceremony won´t change when future monarchs is crowned. But i don´t think this is totally in the hands of Charles and William to decide. If U.K has a socialist government when the next coronation is to take place who want to scratch the monarchy, bad things can happen.

6:30 And Saint Atila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'Oh, Lord, bless this thy hand grenade that with it thou mayest blow thy enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy. And the Lord did grin, and people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats, and large...

@usblueflyer England "birthed" the United States Corporation to make more cash for the Monarchy and you are not you're own country, isn't that obvious?
-
@likethepear But then consider the fact that the 'corporation of the U.S' is nothing more than a cash-generating corporation of the U.K

Strange to think that under her throne lies the stone of King David of Israel, why would that be? I wonder which 'God' they refer to here...

@meknight77 Although I am uncertain about the use of a canopy in the history of British coronations, canopies have historically been used in the consecration of a monarch.

@artistkeith3 It is nothing to do with a 'Queen' being embarrassed of having the blessing of her breast.
This was the first time that the coronation was shown on TV. It was considered to be so holy that it would be, in some way, perverted - so it was agreed that the most holy part, the blessing with oil, would be kept private - thus the canopy.

When William is crowned King, will he keep to this programme? I'd really hate to see him 'dumb down' the Monarchy, and change the Coronation Ceremony to nothing more than a few words in front of a town cleric! I'm not from the UK, but there are some of us who WANT this part of history to continue.
England "birthed" the United States, and even though we ARE our own country, the historic ties we share really ARE important to a LOT of us!!
