This song is still wonderful after all these years. Truly a classic & nothing like the trash they crank out these days. Smoky Robinson is AWESOME!!!

42 yrs ago I first heard this! We had crazy wild Bouffant hairdos, (used alot of "Dippity Do" to maintain them!) did the swim, played the game "Twister" and kept those 45's dropping down on the old turntable.(parents yelling,"turn that down"!) We thought we were the coolest and this Smokey song made us very happy. I still feel that same joy when I hear it today!!! You can catch him on LiveFromDaryl'sHouse and he's still superb.

Smokey Robinson & the Miracles first released this track, which Stevie Wonder showed to him at a 1966 Christmas party, on the Make It Happen Album. Fast forward to 1970, when the Tamla/Motown label in Great Britatin, lacking any new Miracles material, released this song. It went to #1 in the UK, and Smokey, who was to leave the Miracles at that time, changed his mind & stayed with the group to watch the song be a number 1 in the US.
