Daniel Cohen and Jeffrey Means, the two young conductors who got to work with Maestro Pierre Boulez on his monumental 'Répons' at the Lucerne Academy Festival speak to Oliver Helmmer of the Deutschlandradio Kultur about working with the old master and the unique experience of working on Boulez's complex music.

The piece is for 6 soloists modified by live electronics and accompanied by an ensemble of 24 players. The audience is seated to surround the ensemble and the soloists and speakers surround the audience, making this piece a very unique special experience. This was the first time the piece was performed under Boulez not with his Ensemble Intercontemporain. Instead both ensemble and soloist were young musicians form the Lucern Festival Academy that got to play this master-piece twice in a row to a full house at the Lucerne Festival.
