  • A lot of people have trouble discerning between 'Virtual Intelligence' and 'Artificial Intelligence'.

Siri, for example, is a Virtual Intelligence. Her actions are all determined by pre-programmed variables and settings. Yes- She makes 'decisions', but she does not actively learn or seek to understand things beyond what is apparent in her programming.

A real Artificial Intelligence is capable of learning, interpreting and developing on its own, independent of our progr-

  • SKYNET!!! GET TO DA CHOPPA!!!

  • @steviesama I was referring to AI in the use of it's instrumental equivalience, nothing more.

  • @sethboy66 I think you have drifted from the intent of the original comment I replied to, we are talking passed one another at this point; you aren't on topic. We were talking about sub-divisions of the field of A.I. Siri is a Virtual Intelligence, a sub-domain of A.I. That last sentence is what I was responding to.

  • @bleckySD there was nothing wrong with your English sir :D

  • @steviesama AI (Aritificial intelligence) A computerized program written to selectively fulfill functions with a humanistic notion. Previous human input allows for the program to selectively choose a response to a plethora of substituted queries. Quoted from M.I.T Artificial intelligence handbook Third Edition.

  • @sethboy66 ar·ti·fi·cial in·tel·li·gence - noun - The theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages. It doesn't have any sense of perception, it interprets commands. That's just not AI per se.

  • @Megacaesar I'm sorry but he is Dan is correct in calling it Artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is any preprogrammed machine that can follow the simple rules to perceive its environment and take actions to maximize its chances of success in the varying environments that it will face. In which Siri performs admirably.

  • @Megacaesar Out of space? Space is good. Space. Space. Wanna go to space. I'm the best at space. Space. Space.

  • I think that there is nothing we should be worried about. I mean. Siri for exapmle, she is programmed to reply in a certain way to certain words in a certain order. It will become interesting though, to see what this kind of machines or A.I.s as you like to call it. will make when they will have the power to "decide".

btw: you are very handsome in this video :)

sorry for my english, I am czech :)
