House people that have lost their homes so they don't have to live in tent cities.

Personally I would like to see these giant eye sores torn down and replaced with agriculture as many of these lands once were. Unrealistically they could legalize marijuana and turn them into indoor hydroponic farms. Could also convert them into emergency shelters as there will soon be plenty of people in need. How about education? trade school? small business training? each individual store would make an excellent classroom.

I GOT A SOLUTION...
Get my goddamn asshole a godfucking TIME MACHINE and go back to the motherfucking 1982 WHEN THE MALLS WERE THE GODFUCKING BOMB!!!

they are tearing down the ghost mall near me right now and are supposedly going to build a soccer stadium in its place.
But it was shut down because the demographics of the area changed and crime became a severe problem there. I heard there was an average of a mugging every day.
Even the Walmart had to close.
But of course demographics seem to be linked to economic conditions in an area as well.

I don't know, maybe you can turn them all into homeless shelters for all the unemployed Americans you're going to have? Other than that, I don't give a goddamned rip!

Take it from a professional architect, -malls are not concidered "generic" buildings. This relates to the human body. Malls have no natural light. Malls have too high ceelings, but too low for sports. Malls are expensive to heat. Malls have little human infrastructure (toilets etc.). The best use of old malls are in my opinion as waste management systems. They can perform beautifully at that, and though sustainability taxation there could be a market for it.

Cool deal. Glad I could help! Just bought a really nice sink at Construction Junction for 5$, btw. The place rules.
Long live the Campaign For Liberty!!!!!!

Great idea. We have the Re-Store here in the Seattle area and now you have given me an idea to help our Ron Paul people here that are out of work.

Hans, I like your white paste up background. It represents to me the new paradigm of economic austerity paired with homespun entrepenerial spirit and thrifty inventiveness. Don't be shamed! Go with it!
Your whiteboard background looks extremely low budget. You might wish to do something about that. To anyone who's offended, I'm just trying to offer some constructive criticism.
Maybe the government will convert these malls into homeless shelters.

Thanks. You are right. It looks low budget because it IS low budget. I'll see what I can do about it.

I wanted to convert one strip mall in our community into an Ice/Hockey Rink.

Stuff like that.
Maybe communities will have to take things into their own hands and make use of them.
I assume local authorities could seize a mall after some time.
