@TNSVladiMatt this would make sense.. If Thrall was horde at the time.. He gained the powers to do so AFTER he was named an aspect.. He wouldn't have had the time to forge the bonds with the elements as warchief.

im a little confused why darion or sylvanas played no part in the the encounter or cinematic or in icecrown citadel at all........

I imagine that with Bolvar as the new LK and nearly all (about 99%) of the Scourge's total command structure wiped out, the undead officially have ceased to be a threat.
I mean, a number have gone over to the Twilight Clan or to the Forsaken - so as an organization, the Scourge is now defunct.
