I learned Si Bheag, Si Mhor just 30 minutes ago, so it's far away from perfect...
But I like this wonderful song so much, that I wanted to record it right away!

written by Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738), blind Irish composer and harpist

  • Is reverb or effects added to this video? Sounds great, I just want to know what to expect while playing.

  • @MightBeBalance Hey, thank you! No effects added, I mostly upload straight without any cutting and mastering. -Fabian-

  • Hello from Australia, Do you have a preference on the plastic or wooden mouth piece is there any change in sound? I want to get one to practice with before i get an ocarina :)

    Thankyou Brodie.

  • @JDMfrog180 Hi Brodie, well I've actually never played a tin whistle with wodden mouthpiece. There are the all wooden ones (quite expensive), but I don't like their sound. Then their are the ones with metal body and plastic mouthpiece, those are cheap and some are nice, like the Clarke Sweetone. The better all plastic whistles like Susato and Dixon are really cool, they don't have a real mouthpiece but a had made of the same material as the body.

  • @JDMfrog180 The really expensive ones made of metal (probably not your choice when you when you want to get an ocarina soon) have an amazing sound. An example for a high end whistle company would be Chieftain. High quality woods like blackwood or rosewood are not my choice as I said. I'd recommend a Clarke Sweetone, Clarke Traditional (wooden block in the head part, body made of rolled metal, needs more air than the Sweetone), Dixon Trad, or tuneable Susato and Dixon models. -Fabian-

  • is this a good tin whistle for beginners?

  • @MegaHarmonica1 Yes it's a great whistle for beginners, not expensive and has a nice sound! You might have to tweak it a little, it's not hard to do. You'll find good instructions via google. -Fabian-
