England had a scorching August, but it was nothing to do with the summer sun. It was a wave of riots and looting which seemingly sprang from nowhere, but which gripped London for days and spread to other cities nationwide with buildings torched and streets trashed. Police struggled to contain the worst violence in decades. RT's Laura Smith watched events unfold and covered this story for us.

This is chaos. The government brought this on themselves. If you wave around a gun at the people to get them to comply, whilst robbing them dry, sooner or later, they'll get pissed.
