2003 Bridgestone Present The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford - VIDEO RACE RECAP -- June 15, 2003 -- Grand Prix of Monterey -- Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca -- Monterey, California. Great site, great racetrack. This should have been Jourdain weekend but he qualified with an underweight car. This led him to P13 instead of P1. Carpentier was the second fastest and received P1 gift. The race was a battle between Carpentier -- Tracy and Junqueira. Jourdain finished in P4. Not bad considering he came from P13. Bourdais also was strong but his car not. He was forced to abandon with a engine boost problem. This summary stands 03 minutes 39 seconds. Music: Pearl Jam -- World Wide Suicide
