  • I HAVE BEEN AN APPRAISER FOR 32 YEARS. I HAVE HAD MY UPS AND DOWNS, BUT OVERALL HAVE MADE A GOOD LIVING. THE KEY IS TO BECOME A HIGHLY TRAINED APPRAISER.

  • Get a four year degree just to get a job that makes less than minimum wage.

  • I agree, unless you can find an opening at your local county property appraisers office, being an appraiser is pointless since the cost is way to high for this job

  • When you become an appraiser the appraiser management company takes over 1/2 your fee and does nothing for it. You can't make a living as a real estate appraiser. There are to many appraisers and not enough clients and on top of that the appraisal management company take over 1/2 your fee. You also have to pay for your own data, insurance, your appraiser's license, education, you have to find somebody to train you and, you need to find your own clients. There is not a bright future in appraisal.
