Boy...that is a damn close call. I had to watch it 5 times. Both are in the 2 length circle and it looks like Barking Mad would have put her bow right over the transom of Joe Fly who was tacking too close. In fact...on the 6th review, Joe Fly had yet to fill sail when Barking is already avoiding because they were going to hit.
Wow. That sucks for Joe Fly.

Tought, but correct call. "Barking Mad" finished her tack at video time 00:39, seeming to have enought water to keep herself clear of "Mascalzone", rule 19.1 fullfilled by "Joe Fly" here. When "Joe Fly" finished her tack at 00:42 she was already within 2 boatlenght zone, therefore she breaks rule 18.3 by forcing "Barking Mad" to sail above close-hauled course to avoid her.

Tough call. Barking mad completes and Joe Fly is already avoiding. Looks ok to me on this video.

AT 37 SECONDS Joe Fly tacks in to controversy in the 2008 Far 40 Worlds.
This tack led to a protest that cost them the Far 40 Worlds.
