Pastor Tim Conway explains from Matthew 7:13-14 how there are two gates followed by two paths: a wide gate and broad path, and a narrow gate with a narrow path. The vast multitudes of people, even religious church people who call themselves Christians, enter through the wide gate and are on the broad path, which ends in eternal damnation. Only few find the narrow gate and walk on the narrow path leading to eternal life. The majority on the broad path look at the few and slander them as freaks, fanatics, and radicals, because they are different from them.
True Christians will be hated by the world, as Jesus said (John 15:19). Paul the apostle also promised that those who live godly in Christ will suffer persecution (2 Tim. 3:12). If you profess to be a Christian, and yet the world does not hate you, and you are not undergoing persecution, if you go along well with all the crowds, don't be deceived: you're on the broad path with the rest of the majority.
